Brevan Twin Wall Light

The Brevan WB2 is a 330 mm twin wall light in antique gold or black with alabaster-effect glass shades — two E27 globes to 25 W each, not supplied.

A twin wall light, 330 mm wide

330 mm across by 240 mm high, projecting 140 mm, at 1.6 kg. It carries two alabaster shades side by side on one backplate — a horizontal fitting, which is worth stating because most wall lights in this catalogue are vertical.

That horizontal proportion suits particular positions: above a mirror, where it lights a face evenly from both sides of centre; above a bedhead, spanning rather than flanking; and over artwork, where two sources give flatter, more even coverage than one.

“Alabastro” — what it means

The Italian trade term for alabaster-effect glass: white, dense and faintly veined, made to look like the stone. It is slightly uneven in density, so it glows with a soft cloudiness that varies across each shade rather than as a flat panel — and with two shades side by side, that variation is visible at close range, which is where a wall light lives.

It also hides the globe completely, so there is no glare at any angle — the right property for a fitting at eye level.

Two globes, 50 watts, and a simple choice

Two E27 to 25 W each, none supplied. Because the glass conceals them, brightness and warmth are the only decisions — no decorative filaments, and no need for the two to match visually.

Use warm 2700 K, especially in antique gold, where cool white reads green. Note that E27 is the larger screw base: on a wall light that is unusual — most in this catalogue take the smaller E14 — and it means more output is available than a typical wall fitting can take.
