Domus BF-7603 Raw Ceramic Interior Wall Light

The Domus BF-7603 is a raw ceramic wall light — 420 mm wide, 90 mm high, 180 mm projection, taking one E27 lamp. Made in Italy.

✅ It takes an E27, not a G9 — and that is the practical difference

The other ceramic wall lights in this range take small G9 capsules. This one takes a standard E27:

• ✅ Far more lamp choice. Every filament, opal, frosted and standard LED globe in this catalogue is E27 or B22 — you are not restricted to the small capsule market.
• ✅ Much more available output. A G9 LED gives 350–450 lm; an E27 LED gives 800–1,100 lm comfortably. On a 420 mm fitting that matters.
• ✅ Cheaper and easier to replace, and stocked everywhere.
• ⚠ An E27 is physically larger, which is why this is the biggest ceramic in the range — a 180 mm projection against 80–120 mm on the G9 fittings.

⚠ The wattage: what we know and what we do not

The datasheet records 60 W; our own record says 20 W. They disagree, and the ceramic range as a whole does not add up:

We have not invented a house rule. ✅ In practice it does not constrain you: an E27 LED of 8–12 W gives 800–1,100 lm, which is right for a wall light of this size and well inside either figure. Ask us before fitting anything above about 20 W.

Choosing the lamp — not supplied

• Warm 2700–3000 K. Ceramic and plaster are warm surfaces; a cool lamp makes both look grey.
• Opal or frosted, not a clear filament — on a wall light the lamp is usually partly visible from below, and a bare filament at close range is uncomfortable.
• About 800–1,100 lm for a fitting this size.
• ⚠ Rated for enclosed fixtures.
• ⚠ Check the globe fits the 180 mm depth — a large decorative globe may not.

Where the size works

• At 420 mm wide it is a broad horizontal band — the largest ceramic here, and it needs a wall with room around it.
• ✅ On a large blank wall — a stairwell, a double-height entry, a long hallway — the scale is right where a 250 mm funnel would look lost.
• ⚠ 180 mm of projection is substantial. Check it against a hallway width and a door swing before fixing a position.
• ⚠ The wall must be worth lighting. Grazing light shows every patch and roller mark. On good plaster it is excellent; on a poor wall it is unforgiving.

Where it works

• Stairwells, double-height entries and long hallways — where the scale suits.
• Rooms where the fitting should vanish — paint it wall colour.
• Where you want real output from a ceramic fitting — the E27 is why.
• ⚠ 180 mm projection — check it against a hallway width.
• ⚠ Only over a wall finish that will bear grazing light.

420 mm wide, 90 mm high, 180 mm projection, in raw ceramic, made in Italy. ✅ Paintable with any water-based paint. One E27 lamp, NOT supplied — we suggest a warm 2700–3000 K opal LED of about 800–1,100 lm, rated for enclosed fixtures. ⚠ The datasheet records 60 W and our record says 20 W; the ceramic range is inconsistent across five fittings. Ask us before exceeding about 20 W. 220–240 V AC, hard-wired. Warranty 1 year.
