Domus BF-2608B Ceramic nterior Wall Light

The Domus BF-2608B is a raw ceramic two-way wall light — 360 mm wide, 100 mm high, 80 mm projection, taking two G9 lamps. Made in Italy.

Two-way: up and down

This is what separates it from the BF-2185 funnel, which throws light upward only:

• Light leaves upward across the wall above — the soft wash that lifts a ceiling.
• And downward, through an opening in the bottom of the fitting — a second band down the wall beneath.
• ✅ The result is a symmetrical double wash, which reads as far more deliberate than a single uplight, and gives light at floor level as well — useful in a hallway or on a stairwell where you want to see the ground.

⚠ It needs clear wall above and below. A cornice above or a dado, skirting board or furniture below will cut one of the two bands off, and half the fitting with it. Allow roughly 300 mm clear in each direction.

⚠ The wattage: what we know and what we do not

The datasheet records 60 W alongside “requires 2 x G9 lamp”, and does not say whether that is 60 W in total or 60 W each.

• The single-lamp BF-2185 in this range records 40 W for one G9 — which makes “30 W each” the less likely reading of the two.
• We have published 60 W as the fitting maximum and we are not going to state a per-lamp figure we cannot confirm.
• ✅ In practice it does not constrain you. A G9 LED of 3–4 W gives roughly 350–450 lm, so two of them are nowhere near any reading of the limit. Ask us before fitting anything above about 20 W per lamp.

Choosing the lamps

• G9 LED, not halogen. Cooler running, and this is a closed ceramic body.
• Warm 2700–3000 K — ceramic and plaster are warm surfaces.
• Rated for enclosed fixtures — many small G9 LEDs are not.
• ⚠ Use two identical lamps. On a symmetrical two-way fitting, a colour or brightness mismatch between the up and down bands is immediately visible.
• Not supplied.

Where it works

• Hallways and stairwells — the downward band gives light at floor level.
• Living rooms and bedheads, in a rhythm along a wall.
• Wherever you want the fitting to vanish — paint it wall colour.
• ⚠ Needs roughly 300 mm of clear wall above and below.
• ⚠ Only over a wall finish that will bear grazing light.
