The Domus BF-2607A is a raw ceramic uplight — 365 mm wide, 50 mm high, 100 mm projection, taking one G9 lamp. Light emits upwards only. Made in Italy.
✅ You can paint it, and nothing said so. The datasheet is explicit: “ceramic areas can be painted with any water-based paint”.
Painted the same colour as the wall, the fitting disappears into the plaster and leaves only the wash of light above it. That is the architectural use for a ceramic uplight and the reason to choose one over metal. ⚠ Paint it before it goes up, and keep paint off the lamp holder.
At 365 × 50 mm this is a long, low band rather than a funnel or a box:
✅ Its sibling the BF-2608B emits both up and down if you want light at floor level as well — ask us.
Three ceramic fittings in this catalogue record three different figures for the same G9 lamp:
| Fitting | Lamps | Recorded |
|---|---|---|
| BF-2607A (this one) | 1 × G9 | 60 W |
| BF-2185 funnel | 1 × G9 | 40 W |
| BF-2608B two-way | 2 × G9 | 60 W |
Nothing reconciles those, and we are not going to invent a house rule. We have published what is recorded for this fitting.
✅ In practice it does not constrain you: a G9 LED of 3–4 W gives roughly 350–450 lm, which is right for a wall uplight and nowhere near any of these figures. Ask us before fitting anything above about 20 W.
Ceramic, ⚠ brittle — handle it on site like a tile and fix into something solid. 220–240 V, hard-wired, licensed electrician. ⚠ Warranty 1 year, consistent across the ceramic range.
365 mm wide, 50 mm high, 100 mm projection, in raw ceramic, made in Italy. ✅ Paintable with any water-based paint. Light emits upwards only. One G9 lamp, NOT supplied — we suggest a warm 2700–3000 K G9 LED of 3–4 W, rated for enclosed fixtures. ⚠ 60 W is recorded here; sibling fittings in the same range record different figures for the same lamp type — ask us before exceeding about 20 W. 220–240 V AC, hard-wired. Warranty 1 year.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Yes — the datasheet says the ceramic areas can be painted with any water-based paint. Painted the same colour as the wall, the fitting disappears into the plaster and leaves only the wash of light above it, which is the architectural reason to choose ceramic over metal. Paint it before it goes up and keep paint off the lamp holder.
Shape and direction. At 365 by 50 mm this is a long, low band that reads as a line on the wall rather than an object, and it emits upwards only. The BF-2185 is a taller funnel, also upward only. The BF-2608B is a two-way fitting that emits both up and down, if you want light at floor level as well.
No. All the light goes upward, so you get a broad soft wash on the wall above with no visible lamp and no glare — atmosphere and architecture, not task light. It will not light a stair tread either.
60 W is recorded for this fitting, but the range does not add up: the BF-2185 records 40 W for one G9 and the BF-2608B records 60 W for two. Nothing reconciles those and we will not invent a house rule. In practice it does not constrain you — a G9 LED of 3 to 4 W gives roughly 350 to 450 lumens, which is right for a wall uplight. Ask us before fitting anything above about 20 W.
A G9 LED rather than a halogen — cooler running, and this is a closed ceramic body. Warm 2700–3000 K, because ceramic and plaster are warm surfaces and a cool lamp makes both look grey. Check it is rated for enclosed fixtures; many small G9 LEDs are not. The lamp is not supplied.
Around 1.8 to 2 metres from the floor, with at least 300 mm of clear wall above so the wash can develop, and nothing — cornice, beam or picture rail — cutting it off. Use them in a rhythm along a hallway or stairwell; a single uplight on a long wall reads as an accident.
Yes. Grazing uplight shows every patch, bump and roller mark above it. On good plaster that is the point; on a poor wall it is unforgiving.
